The Soundlink Mini Bluetooth Speaker, for its size, delivers great sound quality. It provides a good range of sound, from rich, full bass to crisp highs, even at high volume. The speaker has power and volume buttons, but the consumer controls all the rest from one's Bluetooth device. It has a range of 30 feet. The lithium ion battery provides hours of unplugged play time. The charging cradle (included) keeps the speaker fully charged while serving as a home base, thus allowing the user to listen to music while the unit charges. The wall charger can be plugged into an outlet, or directly into the speaker itself. It usually takes about 3 hours to charge fully. An auxiliary port lets the user connect other audio sources, like an MP3 player. In addition, the USB port allows for software updates, and ensures Bluetooth compatability. This speaker is built like a tank -it's encased in a durable aluminum housing, with a skid-proof bottom. You can take it anywhere, slipping it into a bag, then place it anywhere. Its low center of gravity makes it almost impossible to tip over.

Although this item is well-built and the housing is strong, the grill is prone to scratching. In addition, its edges are sharp and can get dinged. The dock is somewhat tricky to place properly. One must pick up and put down the speaker several times, then wait for confirmation that it is charging. In addition, the charging cable juts out the side of the model, so the cord can't be hidden, and the unit can't be put flush against a wall. There is no battery indicator, except to tell you when it's very low. And it won't work simultaneously with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The bass tends to be too loud and exaggerated compared to the treble, but in a large living space, the unit doesn't get loud enough to fill the area. It's too quiet to be used outdoors, and can easily be drowned out by conversation. For larger living spaces, consider a larger, more complete sound system like the Onkyo HT-S9400THX. WHO WILL LIKE THE BOSE SOUNDLINK MINI BLUETOOTH SPEAKER? Anyone who desires to have music anywhere will appreciate this item. It's small enough to fit into a bag, yet it delivers a good range of sound. You can take your music, videos, and games where they're never gone before.
